1978 Darkness recordings up for ownership rights

The New York Times has an interesting article today “Springsteen and Others Soon Eligible to Recover Song Rights” Read it here.

The article states:

Thanks to a little-noted provision in United States copyright law, those artists (the Times singled out Springsteen and Billy Joel) — and thousands more — now have the right to reclaim ownership of their recordings, potentially leaving the labels out in the cold.

Backstreets had an interesting post as a followup to Bruce’s “Dancing in the Dark” video, featured below on this site. The Golden Age of Music Video website has the scoop and additional videos.
